Obituary for Vern Skalisky
Vern Gene Skalisky was born March 3, 1933 to the late William and Nettie (Kovar) Skalisky in Sebeka, MN. He attended and graduated from Sebeka High School in 1951 and then entered the United States Army and honorably served in the Korean War.
Vern returned to the family farm until 1963, when he moved to Sacramento, CA and became a home painter with his brother Edwin. He retired in 1988.
Vern was united in marriage to Frances Jacob in 1997 and they resided in Sebeka, Minnesota. Vern passed away at his home in Sebeka on December 17, 2017 with the gentle care of Knute Nelson Hospice at 84 years of age. He will be dearly missed by his family and friends.
Survived by his wife Frances; daughter Theresa of Hawaii; son Michael of Colorado Springs, CO; and son Bruce of Sacramento, CA; step-son, James Granroth of Sacremento, CA; many other relatives and a host of friends.
Memorial services will be held in the Spring of 2018.
