He loved teaching and wanted all of his students to succeed as he worked hard to keep the powerline program #1 in the State of Minnesota. Steve retired in 2014.
Steve was an avid fisherman, he enjoyed spending an afternoon fishing with his family and salmon fishing in Michigan. He was an accomplished golfer as he got a hole in one in October of 1997. Whether they golfed at Whitetail Run in Wadena or Blueberry Pines in Menahga, Steve looked forward to Saturday morning golfing with his friends. He loved muscle cars and recently purchased and was restoring a 1966 Mustang. Steve loved 4-wheeling activities with his family and grandchildren.
On December 22, 2017 Steve passed away peacefully with his family and the gentle care of Knute Nelson Hospice at his home in Wadena, at 64 years of age. He will be dearly missed by his family and friends. Preceding Steve in death were his parents; and brother, Patrick Johnson.
