Obituary for Patricia Rydbom
Patricia “Pat” Lou Hess was born March 25, 1936 to Earl and Evelyn (Hosner) Hess in Floodwood, Minnesota. Pat was united in marriage to James Charles Rydbom on February 2, 1953 at St. Ann’s Catholic Church in Wadena. Their marriage was blessed with four children as Pat and Jim made their home in Wadena, Minnesota.
Pat was employed at Key’s Café in Wadena, where she was a cook and waitress. For over 35 years, Pat was the Head Cook at the Pine Cove Inn in Wadena. In 1990, Pat studied and received her GED from Wadena Vocational Technical College, currently known as M-State.
Pat enjoyed watching and feeding the hummingbirds, orioles, bees and squirrels. She loved tending to her flowers, baking, reading, playing cards and taking care of her dogs and cats. Pat especially loved spending time with her family.
Patricia passed away unexpectedly on December 27, 2017 at Lakewood Health in Staples, Minnesota. She will be dearly missed by her family and friends.
Preceding Pat in death were her parents, Earl and Evelyn; husband, James “Jim”; brother, Richard Hess; daughter, Debra and son, LeRoy.
Survived by children: Linda Ness of Sebeka; Danny (Sue) Rydbom of Motley; Kathy (Jerry) Peterson of Wadena; Lonna Watland (Nick Polman) of Aldrich; 7 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; many other relatives and friends.
