Obituary for Eugene Lohse
Eugene Thomas Lohse was born on December 21, 1931 in Grant County, rural Erdahl, Minnesota. His parents were the late Ernest and Thora (Hanson) Lohse. Gene grew up in Grant County and in the spring of 1941 the Lohse Family moved to a farm southeast of Henning. Gene farmed until 1987 when he sold his cattle and then was employed with the Trites Turkey Farm.Â
In 1993 he sold the farm and moved to Ottertail where he was employed with West Central Turkey in Pelican Rapids, retiring in 2003. He enjoyed delivering the Contact in the Richville area, deer hunting and watching westerns.Â
On January 14, 2018 Gene passed away at the Elders’ Home in New York Mills at 86 years of age. He will be dearly missed by his family and friends. Preceding Gene in death were his parents; brothers: Kenneth Lohse and Philmon Lohse.
Gene is survived by his companion of more that 30 years, Dottie Haack of Perham; children: Bill (Maria) Haack of Hutchinson; Mike Haack of Richville; Carrie Haack of Alexandria; Wendy (Chris) Wilson of Balsam Lake, Wisconsin; 7 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren; sister-in-law, Lou Lohse of Park Rapids; 2 nieces; 1 nephew and a host of friends.
