Obituary for Esther Dreyer
Esther Anna (Stueve) Dreyer was born on February 5, 1928 on the family farm in Henning township. Her parents were the late Dick and Marie (Eckhoff) Stueve. Esther attended country school in rural Henning and along with her siblings, helped on the family farm. She was confirmed on April 6, 1941 at St Paul’s Lutheran Church of Henning.
She was united in marriage to Len Dreyer at her parent’s home on May 29, 1948. Esther worked side by side with Len for 35 years in the Surge Dairy Equipment business at Henning Farm Supply. After retirement she and Len spent many winters in Arizona.
Esther always enjoyed playing cards, doing puzzles and getting together with her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. She also volunteered at the Henning nursing home and was an active member at St Paul’s Lutheran Church, where she was involved in the S.P.W.F., W.A.M.S, quilters group and Bible studies. Esther passed away on December 28, 2017 at the age of 89 years.
Esther is survived by her children Sheryl (Gary) Misegades; Sandy (Marty) Friedrich; Joyce (Greg) Kromminga; Jon (Lisa) Dreyer; brother, Eldon (Marlene) Stueve; sister-in-law, Alma Stueve; 10 grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren; many nieces and nephews.
Preceding her in death were her parents; husband, Len on September 1, 2008; sisters: Dora Koepke and Amanda Ehlert; brothers: Ed, Emil, and Henry Stueve; and grandson Baby Boy Friedrich. She will be dearly missed by her family and friends.
